A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place

Just wanted to let you ladies know about an awesome study that Ms. Lois Van Dyke is hosting in her home starting Sept. 8th at 6:30 pm . A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place is a study by Beth Moore about the parallels of the Tabernacle's building and your life as a chosen vessel of God. We hope that you'll consider joining this study. Ms. Van Dyke has shared with us before and we gleamed so much from the wisdom that the Lord has given her. This will be a great opportunity if any of you are interested in doing a bible study.
We look forward to seeing you at Emily's house on the 21st of September for our evening with Sheba Gil!

A post from one of our ladies:

"My name is Christina Rogozinski. Some of you know me from church, yet others haven't had the chance to meet me. I'm volunteering to read to elementary-aged children starting tomorrow and every Thursday thru summer at the Huntsville/Madison Public Library. We'll do story time first, then finish with craft time. 10:30-11:30. Bring your young ones if you can for a nice 1 hour break! :) The library also has other fun activities and door prizes for you and your children to enjoy."

Outing to Miss Mary Bobo's

Ok Ladies we have the date set for JULY 31st, at 11:00am in Lynchburg, TN. Miss Mary Bobo's restaruant used to be a boarding house owned by Jack Daniels and Miss Mary Bobo. She was known as a wonderful cook. The daily menu varies daily but always includes 2 meats, 6 vegetables, homemade bread, dessert, and beverage. True to Southern boarding house tradition, guests sit together at a large family table alongside a gracious Lynchburg hostess who encourages conversation, shares a bit of local lore and ensures dishes are passed to the left. We have to pay 50% of the total bill 3 weeks in advance (by July 10th). Therefore, I need to know for sure who will be coming. We need to know an exact number of people by that date. The total cost per person is $20.81 (that's with tax included). I've been twice myself and I LOVE the food and the ambiance. It's truly worth the money. I guess we will drive the church bus to make it easy on everyone. It will take about an hour to get there (give or take) so we would need to leave by 9:30am and will probally be back by 4ish. I'll be sending out a message via facebook also. Thanks, looking forward to some great time with wonderful gals, and great food.

Next Meeting, May 21st

We are changing lanes here! Aubrey has welcomed us to her new home as our hostess for the next meeting! Continue your study through Ephesians and be ready to share what God is showing you through this scripture.

Please feel free to bring a snack. Looking forward to our next meeting!

Last night's meeting

What a blessing! I was so encouraged by the wisdom Laura shared with us. What a great night of fellowship as well. God is constantly reminding me of the blessing of friendships. We have the awesome privilege of bearing one another's burdens, of coming together and learning about God's great love for us. Thank you all for being a part of this. God is moving in our hearts.

We discussed summer plans of Equip U, a couples retreat in July for the Young Marrieds SS class, and tentative plans for an outing to Miss Mary Bobo's in TN. I think we will plan to do that outing in July instead of June. We will talk more about this at the next meeting.

Great fellowship

God is good. We had quite a small group last night, but it was such sweet fellowship. We missed all of you that were not able to attend. We discussed what the Lord has been showing us through His word. We talked about Ephesians and God's love story. It was awesome to read the Word together and to see how the Holy Spirit is working in the hearts of our women.

For our next meeting, May 3rd, Laura Aquila is going to come and share with us. We are so excited to hear from her. Please keep her in prayer as she prepares to meet with us. Also, if anyone would like to bring a snack that would be great!
We look forward to seeing you all then.

Last meeting

For those of you that were not able to be at our last meeting, we were so encouraged by the testimony of Lois Van Dyke. What a blessing to sit at the feet of those who have been on the journey and to learn from their experiences. God has proven Himself so faithful and we were so blessed to have Ms. Van Dyke share.

A few of you volunteered to bring snacks for the next meeting, thank you!
Hope to see you all then!

Preparing Our Hearts

For our first meeting on April 5th, we will discuss Ephesians, Titus 2, and 1 Peter 3: 1-6. Please read through these and be ready to share what God is showing you through His word!

Welcome!

Hey ladies! We are so excited about getting this study started! We know God is moving amidst this group of young women and are so blessed to be a part of it! Jesus says in John chapter five the Father is always at work. The privilege we have to join Him in His work and do this thing called “life” together is all because of His grace. For you girls that weren't there for the first meeting, the Lord has been working this in our hearts for quite a while now. We trust that what our God initiated, He will also work out to be that which would please Him most. The vision we take from scripture is Titus 2: 3-5. “Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderous or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Ephesians 2 says that we who have believed have His incomparably great power- the same power that raised Christ from the dead is working in us. It is not us, but God working in us to want to do and be able to do what pleases Him. Oh that the same power of the resurrection would bring new life into our homes, families, relationships, neighborhoods, and world! And that is our prayer, that we may encourage one another to follow in His ways and walk in His footsteps, that we would no longer live, but Christ live and rule in us. He's given us such a divine privilige and opportunity to be used as instruments and tools in His work!

Our plan is to meet twice a month, the first Monday and then on the Friday two weeks later. This may seem confusing at first, but we will post the dates on the blog so everyone will know when and what to expect each meeting. Our next meeting will be Monday, April 5th at 7 til 9 pm at Emily's house. Ms. Lois Van Dyke is going to share her testimony with us and afterwards we will have discussion time. We'd like to have snacks available, so if you are able please bring something sweet or salty.

We've created this blog to keep you updated on any info you will need to know between each meeting. So, be sure to check in from time to time!

We are looking forward to this!

Love- Amy and Emily
