April Bible Study, Mentorship

Hey girls!

We would love to invite all of you ladies to join us as we seek the heart of God throughout the month of April. We are going to seek out what the Lord has to say about the topic of mentorship and discipleship, as it is revealed in God’s Word! The Lord is mightily working throughout His precious bride! We want to join Him in what He is doing and prepare ourselves for the work that He has for us in the days to come. We would love for all of you ladies to join us! We trust that He is purifying and readying us for that glorious Day of His return- Oh, that we would be a bride fit for our beautiful God!! Obedience to Scripture being our foundation, we look to Him as King to guide us throughout this study. Our first meeting will be on Thursday April 7 at 7:30pm. We will meet every Thursday at 7:30 for three or four weeks at Emily’s house. We want every one of us to look to Him for true abundant life that is completely surrendered under His Will and reign- that we would be able to say with Christ, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” The first week we will take a close look at the true Biblical Gospel message- that we will better be able to understand and communicate it with others- since that should be the core of all our relationships. We will also take a look at women in our lives that have played important roles in our own spiritual journeys. Throughout the remaining weeks it is our desire to dig deep into the heart of God, through the Word of God, specifically regarding mentorship and discipleship. There will be no extra book to order, but there will be many resources that we will pull from.

As I write this, John 8 is on my heart and mind. In verse 31 Jesus says, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” There are several purposes of this Bible Study that are on our hearts. One is the obvious, that we would know what God says about mentorship, discipleship- what it is, how to do it Biblically. The second is that we would become a group of women that are true disciples of Jesus Christ. That we would together come to the place that we treasure Christ and His Holy Words- that we ourselves would become exactly what He has created us for, so that in return we would be a women of courage, love, and risk- for the glory of God and not ourselves. That we would find our satisfaction and confidence in God Himself. The third reason for this study is that we would be free! Free from ourselves and able to love and cherish God as our JOY and treasure….God has always created with HIS WORDS. If God’s word is at the core, He can create in us a new heart and new life of freedom. A freedom that will throw ourselves away at the mercy of our good GOD. We seek to confess and renounce sin, to break up our unplowed ground, to be pure in heart- that we would be able to see God! We seek to purify ourselves so that the glory of our God can be seen in and through us! To His Praise!! 1 Peter 1:22 says to purify ourselves by obedience to the Word so we can have an earnest and pure love for one another- a love that is deep and rooted and full of purity for the praise of God and not the praise of man. That is our prayer! That ultimately we would be women of miraculous, great affection and love- based on the truth of The Word. We pray that each one of us would grow deeper in our knowledge of who God is so the worth of our Lord would continually fall upon us- that we would be able to experience the JOY of our salvation. That we would each grow to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh- to become women of reckless abandonment to the Great Lover of our Souls! To be a women that are no longer slaves to sin, slaves to discouragement, self-pity, doubt, lovelessness, hopelessness…Oh that the nature of our faith, along with Abraham, would be to give God all the Glory!! Forgetting about ones self, we long to have eyes solely for our Lord and Savior.

We do not know what to do, but we say to our God- “our eyes are upon you.”

We love each one of you girls! May much grace continue to be upon us as we seek to be one in heart and mind, testifying to the resurrection of our Lord Jesus!! What an honor to be as one body with each of you!

Ps. 107: 20 “He sent forth His word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave….Let them..tell of His works with songs of joy.”

Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return from it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purposes for which I sent it.”

May God use us to bring others to Himself- He has entrusted us each with this precious ministry of reconciliation. Let us “not love our lives so much as to shrink from death.”

See you girls on April 7th at 7:30 pm at Emily's house! There will be no testimony meeting for the month of April.

Also, keep an eye on the blog for more details about the outreach opportunity we talked about at the last meeting. It will be posted soon!
