Inviting you to an evening of thanks at my house on Nov. 10th at 7pm. I'll have apple cider ready, just bring your favorite fall treat. We'll have a time of sharing thanks and giving praise for the many ways God is working in and through our lives... I hope to see you all then.

Week three disciplship video

The following link is week three video for our discipleship study. We discussed how if we were to be His disciple and make His disciples, we must slay the desire for self glory and actively live for the glory of God. We must lose our lives and live for Another. We discussed how easy it is to be chained by the desire of human approval rather than seeking God's approval over our everyday lives.

There are really no words to say how much of a blessing this video has been in my own life. It's truths have really penetrated me, convicting me and purging me and allowing me to see myself for more of who I really am- and then in return to see a little bit more of the worth of Christ. I hope you'll watch it and let the Spirit do His work in you too.The first several minutes are on the importance of small groups, accountability, etc. then he gets into the main message.

I pray and hope this study, short as it has been, has been used to stir our affections for Christ and His precious Word! Updates on the next Bible Study for the fall will be coming soon! The discipleship study is something we can pick up anytime and continue in small portions like we have done through April.

Discipleship/ Mentorship Study, week 2 review

Hey! Here’s a super quick review of what we talked about last Thursday at Bible Study!

He showed so passionately what following Christ looks like- what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. We talked about the risk that will be involved if we are going to walk like Jesus did, spreading the gospel and making disciples. We encouraged one another to be courageous and follow on. (If you haven't watched this sermon, we would encourage you to watch it!)


Here’s what we talked about doing throughout the week for this coming Thursday….

1) Write down the people in your life that have played a role in forming who you are and who you are becoming. Write out some specifics. This will take time as you think it through. Prayerfully consider this as the Lord may want to give you insights. Also, you may want to include an area or two where you feel like there was a lack of mentorship or discipleship in your life. Just be thinking in these terms, do whatever the Lord leads you to do- this is just something to get us thinking…
2) Most importantly, prayerfully search the Word and ask God to open your eyes to anything He would want you to learn in regards to discipleship and mentorship. Let’s listen to the Spirit as we open God’s Word. We talked about how we could look at the teachings and life of Jesus Christ and ask God to give us insights about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ ourselves. We then talked about relationships in Scripture that we could glean from in regards to our topic. Here are a few: Elijah and Elisha, Moses and Joshua, Paul and Barnabas, Paul and Titus, Barnabas and Mark, Ruth and Naomi.
*Not everyone has to share of course, but we would love for a couple of girls to share with the rest of us what God has shown them



The goal of this study is to "promote movement" through retaining the knowledge of God through His Word, specifically in regards to discipleship. We trust that we are just joining God in what He is already doing. We are so thankful to the Lord we have a group of ladies that seek to follow Christ!

Bible Study, Thursday at 7:30

Hey Girls! Just wanted to remind you of Bible Study tomorrow night at 7:30! We want to listen to what God has to say about the mission and purpose that He has for each of us while on this earth! It's a small group of ladies that want to follow Jesus and hear Him as He talks to us through His Word in His Spirit. I'm excited to see our intimacy with the Lord and with one another grow deeper. There will be certain scriptures that we will dig into as we seek to grow in our understanding of discipleship and mentorship. Love you girls. Be praying- we really have no idea what we are doing (for real :-)) just wanting to listen and obey Him! We need Him to guide us! So please be praying for us- that this time together would truly bring glory to Him! This week we will listen to a video by David Platt (even if you have listened to it before, I believe it will be good to listen to it again- especially listening to it together) and then we will talk about it and then start thinking in the way of discipleship- giving verses that we will dig into over the next several weeks! I am praying for this time together- we are dependent on Him.

Date change and Outreach Party!!

Hey gals! We are going to push back the Bible Study to start on Thurs the 14th! Hope to see you all there at Emily's house at 7:30!! Wanted to invite you ladies to help us at an outreach party on Fri. April 8th, 2011. It starts at 4:30 and ends at 7:15. It's an outreach party to bring the Hope of the Gospel to the young girls of our surrounding communities. Our young girls from church are also invited to join us! It's hosted by our youth girls and will be in the heritage room at church. There will be an announcement this Sunday and it will also be in the witness and this weeks Sunday bulletin. We are expecting about 50 young girls ages 5-12!! We could use some extra leadership hands!!! There will be invites at the church this week and then small posters on the entrances of the doors this coming week...so check it out for a little more info...
